Welcome

A message from the Headteacher

We are a founding member of The Oak Partnership Trust, formed in January 2019, and are proud to be a Church of England School. Our Christian Ethos and Values are key to the success of every child, underpinning our efforts to provide the best possible education and experiences for the children of Ruishton Primary. We believe strongly in the power of unlocking the innate potential of every child, valuing the diversity and uniqueness of them as they develop through their time here. Through education, we have the gift of inspiring a curiosity of learning, individual confidence and the courage to make positive choices to build a future. We put learning first and shape our teaching to bring out the best and most productive progress in the children; academically, socially and emotionally.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, taught in our indoor and outdoor learning environments which offer a stimulating and inspiring background to positive and happy progress. We are committed in our pursuit of excellence; continually reviewing our practice and identifying areas for school improvement. The children at Ruishton succeed, fulfill their potential and leave having faith in what lies ahead...

'For I know the plans I have for you...plans to give you hope and a future...' Jeremiah 29:11

With best wishes,

Miss Hannah Collier

The Oak Partnership

The Oak Partnership Multi Academy Trust was formed on 1 January 2019. Its founder member schools are three primary schools (Blackbrook Community Primary School, Ruishton CofE Primary School and West Monkton CofE Primary School) and one all-through Special School (Selworthy Special School). All four schools were inspected by Ofsted in 2018 and were rated Good.

In total the trust accommodates over 1000 learners.

The region in which The Oak Partnership is located is at the heart of one of the biggest and fastest growing housing developments in the South West, located along the M5 corridor. There are pockets of high deprivation within these catchments and the Trust recognises challenge of encouraging aspiration amongst all within its community. It hopes to be a catalyst for higher standards and improved outcomes for all its learners, therefore enhancing life chances and social mobility throughout the region.
