Welcome to Summer 1!

Our book focus for this half term is 'The Tin Forest' by Helen Ward. We will continue with 'The Borrowers' by Mary Norton as our class read-aloud this term.

This term our topic is 'Plants'. This topic will allow the children to expand upon their knowledge of the learning they have undertaken in their Craft and Grow sessions during the Spring Term. We will be observing and describing how seeds and bulbs grow and will link our class text ‘The Tin Forest’: a story about an old man, who lives in a junkyard and dreams of turning it into a beautiful forest. We will also explore character and setting description writing.

In our Jigsaw PSHE sessions this half-term, we will be looking at 'Relationships'.

Our school value for this half term is 'Truthfulness'. We will learn about the importance of truthfulness: choosing the truth; standing for the truth; and seeing the truth.
