Welcome back to all children and parents!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Summer and had lots of adventures out and about.
This term our topic is 'Where would you live?' - we will be learning about Africa - Oak Class will be learning about South Africa in particular.
Homework this year will be set on a Thursday and will be due in the following Monday. Each week homework will consist of spelling words, a SPaG task and a Hegarty Maths task (or two). The spellings and SPaG tasks for the term ahead can be found here, on the class page. I have printed out a copy of this term's spellings for the children to keep at home.
Hegarty Maths is an online homework programme that hopefully all children will be familiar with from last year. Children have their own logins and have online videos to watch before completing the set tasks. The weekly tasks will be set in accordance with the topics that are being learnt in school.
All children will need to have a reading book in school every day. This can be a book chosen from home or from the selection in school. Children are required to read for a minimum of 20 minutes per day either to an adult or independently.
In terms of stationary, we have everything that the children need in school, therefore you do not need to bring in a pencil case. However, feel free to bring in a comfortable handwriting pen from home if you would like.
We will be doing P.E on a Wednesday afternoon so please make sure that you have a full kit in school every week.
The Land and Wave parent information evening will take place on Tuesday 17th September at 6pm.
Parents (and children), if you have any queries about any of the above or anything else about the year ahead please come and have a chat with either myself or Miss Barnett.
