Pupil Roles and Responsibilities

The School Council

The School Council anchors our whole-school approach to fundraising, community and leading on pupil voice. They gain feedback from the other leadership teams and work with teachers to improve school life. It serves as a vital platform for pupils' voice, teaching children about democracy, responsibility, and teamwork.

House Captains

Our House Captain leadership role is a privilege for Year pupils. The captains use their role to promote, model and exemplify our Behaviour Values. They serve as strong examples of who we want our pupils to be: respectful, trustworthy, responsible, forgiving, honest, wise and creative. To show service to themselves and others; to be courageous and a good friend; and to persevere in times of difficulty.

Each half term, the children collate house points earned for pupils' demonstration of our values.

Ethos and Wellbeing Team

Ethos – The Christian values, character and attitude that we aim to have as a school community to enable everyone to flourish

Our Pupil Ethos Leaders are a group of children who work together to promote our school values, Christian distinctiveness and pupil wellbeing. They meet each term to discuss key topics and share ideas and feedback or collect views from our classes. The team supports children in Reception Class with mini 'Shine Club' and offers a lunchtime support for younger pupils.

Reading Champions

As part of the role of Reading Champion, pupils represent each class, sharing in their passion for all things reading. They aim to inspire others to follow the reading journey of the school and communicate this with the wider community. They look after the library each lunchtime, providing an important opportunity for its use each day.

Digital Leaders

As part of the role of Digital Leader, children are the link between classes, teachers and the senior leaders in promoting safe and effective digital technology use. They look after our IT equipment, promote its good use and share their knowledge of staying safe and responsible online.

Eco Leaders

As part of the role of being an Eco Leader, children have a vital role in ensuring everyone has a say in the school environment and its surroundings. Eco Leaders support the school environment and take opportunities to litter pick and remind their peers of the importance of looking after the school environment. They also engage themselves in the local community, working with community members to look after the village environment through litter picking initiatives.

Sports Leaders

Our Year 6 pupils help the school P.E. lead in supporting outdoor play and provision at break and lunch times. They play a vital role in enabling all pupils to have opportunities for active, safe and fun play. Each day they set up different zones of activities and support some of our younger year groups by role modelling safe and positive play.

They also support the organisation and set up Sports Day each year, alongside providing community support to the Summer Fayre by running an active game or activity.
