This page has been created to support you in learning from home in periods of time when there are circumstances where it might not be possible for pupils to receive in-person education. This fits into two broad categories:
school closures or restrictions on attendance, where school access for pupils is restricted
individual cases where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able to learn
In the event of school closure, communication for learning will be conducted through Arbor (email). Teachers will instruct on work set, considering age, digital accessibility, independent study skills and general stages of development. See SEND section below for supporting pupils with SEND.
In the event of individual cases where a pupil is able to learn but unable to physically attend school, teachers will work with parents and carers to plan for and support remote learning for that pupil. This might include work set digitally, physical work sent home or a combination of both. Where possible and necessary, the school will provide hardware (e.g. a laptop).
There are multiple learning platforms we encourage our parents to use:
If pupils with SEND are not able to attend school and require remote education, we will work with you to determine how their needs can most effectively be met to ensure they continue to access the curriculum. We will put in place an appropriate curriculum, teaching and support that will enable the pupil to continue learning effectively.
Some pupils with SEND may not be able to access remote education without adult support. Our aim will be to work collaboratively should with families and put arrangements in place that allow pupils with SEND to access remote education successfully. Together, we will determine on how provision can be delivered, alongside consideration of how best to support your child and you as a family.
