e-safety

The internet provides a wonderful and inspiring space for children to communicate, explore, laugh and learn.

It is our responsibility to ensure that we all support our children in doing these things safely. E-Safety is an integral part of our Computing curriculum. All children will learn how to be safe on the internet as well as know who to talk to if they come across something inappropriate online. They will also learn about sharing their personal information online as well as the safe use of social network sites. More information can be found within our curriculum here

How we keep children safe at school:

  • We run a monitoring and filtering system called Smoothwall, a specialised, real-time filtering system. It meets DfE (Department for Education) and KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) standards, ensuring safe access to online learning.

  • We use 360safe, an self-reviewing tool to assess risk against online safety and update this annually.

  • We use SWGfL's online test filtering system every week to make sure our monitoring and filtering is working effectively.
Parent Support:

The following links provide parents with a starting point for practical resources that offer tips and advice on different aspects of keeping children safe online. They can help support parents and carers of any age child to start discussions about their online life, to set boundaries around online behaviour and technology use, and to find out where to get more help and support.
